A local city manager is changing his sex from male to female The City Board wants to fire him He has
No, that is absolutely not fair, and it reeks of discrimination.
Have they bothered asking this man what his toilet preferences are, or have they simply assumed that it would be impossible to accomodate him? If he is changing his sex from male to female, than the obvious conclusion would be that he would feel most comfortable using the women bathroom. So, what the problem?
As much as people might think that they can get away with bigotry by claiming that there are too many obstacles for them to possibly accommodate someone, what they are doing is wrong. What should be focused on first and foremost is this persons ability to do their job well, which, as you say, he has done so for the past 15 years.
A persons gender, religion, sexual preferences, etc should never, EVER, be a reason to dismiss someone from the position they have held for the past 15 years. If I was you, I would appeal to a higher power within the company and rally for him to be able to keep his position. Good luck.

Can the Board of a Condo fire the Manager less than a month before elections. She was fired on the spot, no previous notice, they did not had
meeting of all the members of the board but only got the necesary mayority votes to fire her.
Is it appropriate to judge someone based solely on things they done in their past? And if not, is it ok that I lie on my job applications about a criminal record just so I get the chance to have an actual interview sometimes?
