Hi Penny, this is really a sign of the times. These things will progress and very quickly too. I found a coffee card ap that makes carrying multiple coffee cards around redundant. You simply put your phone to the code at the counter and it keeps track of where and when you've purchased and when you're entitled to your free coffee. The only downside is that I've only found one coffee shop who's using it near my home. I'm busy mentioning it to my favourite haunts. Businesses need to keep up for satisfied customers! Luckily most major companies (such as supermarket chains) will know this and be right on board very quickly!
